A Barrister is called to the Bar in England and Wales, usually through one of the Inns of Court. To appear before a Pakistani court that person must still enrol with a Provincial Bar Council as an Advocate. In practice, the title Barrister describes the qualification, while Advocate describes the right of audience in Pakistan.

Bring the documents you already hold - the FIR, the agreement, the notice, the court order, whatever is relevant. In about an hour we identify the correct forum, explain the likely timeline and give a candid view of the outcome. You leave with a written summary of the options, whether or not you instruct us afterwards.

Fees depend on the forum, the complexity and the expected number of hearings. We quote in writing before work begins, and we distinguish between professional fees and out-of-pocket expenses such as court fees, process fees and travel. Contingency arrangements are not permitted for litigation in Pakistan.

It varies by forum. Family Court matters are designed to conclude within months, banking recovery suits run on a statutory timetable, and civil suits before the district courts can take years depending on the district and the conduct of the other side. We give a realistic range at the outset rather than an optimistic one.

We appear regularly before the Islamabad High Court and the district courts of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, and we accept instructions in Lahore and Karachi in coordination with local counsel. Arbitration and advisory work is handled nationwide.
